What a gem
This was our first time staying in the area and we were so lucky to have found Villas Las Olas. Dave and Lisa have worked very hard to create a Beautiful welcoming space. Located a block from the beach it was an easy trek with the SUP each day. Super large two bedroom, with very well equipped kitchen. A new dipping pool. Large assortment of Beach chairs, umbrellas, water toys all available for the guests use. It was the most relaxing stay and we seldom went out as we were so happy here. High speed wifi, Netflix. Lisa leaves a thermos of coffee every morning outside your door. You are next to local dwellings, so be prepared for roosters crowing, bug chirping from the jungle. We just found this added to the ambiance. We are already planning our next stay. Thank you Dave and Lisa for an amazing week! …

Our third stay at this relaxing home away from home
We found this place three years ago and have gone back every year, and plan to go again next winter. The owners have created a very peaceful place to stay, and have just added a pool and by next year will have another unit in addition to the one bedroom one we stay in, the two 2 bedroom units and the Bachelor suite. They are also building a rooftop social area with barbecue and view of the ocean. It is only a couple minutes walk to a wide sandy beach, with is never “busy”. It is built around a walled courtyard filled with beautiful trees which are populated by several iguana and birds. It is what I consider “old Mexico” feel, very spacious and bright, no granite counters and stainless steel appliances, but I don’t have those at home either! The rental price reflects that, but it has everything you need and is very clean and no one could be better hosts than Lisa and David. The fresh pot of coffee she puts on our balcony table every morning is delicious, as are the homemade cookies that appear every so often. Oh, by the way, one of our favourite things are their friendly four footers...four rescue dogs that protect the place, but are as friendly as can be to the guests. The dogs help keep this place safe and welcoming. If you don’t like dogs or are allergic to them avoid this place, but for everyone else this is a wonderful place to stay. …

Love this place
We absolutely loved David and Lisa. They were the best host ever!! We really enjoyed having so much room in the two bedroom villa. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. I can’t say enough good things about this place, but I will surely be back and already miss being there. This is now one of my favorite vacation spots. I could live there! Walking distance to everything, beach, restaurants, coffee shop, etc.. I would recommend this place to all that would like to visit Punta de Mita. You have to stay here!! Wonderful experience.

Missing it already...wish we could go back tomorrow
Lisa and David (and the dogs!) were very gracious and accommodating hosts, and our lodging - 2 bedrooms, open kitchen and living area - was perfect for our family of four. It was roomy and comfortable and stayed cool in the heat of the day. We had the perfect base for our vacation, the kids could come and go to the beach as they wanted, or just hang out on the patio. We loved the location, off to one side of the town, a very short distance from the beach, and walkable to the town center or the many small local restaurants, where the food was wonderful (and wonderfully inexpensive). We would not have enjoyed staying at one of the resorts - they looked amazing but they also looked like walled off enclaves, and we wanted to be more immersed/exposed to Mexico instead of feeling like we were in California. The town is very simple, without a lot of the tourist vibe in other areas around PV, and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful (and tolerant of our bad Spanish). The surfing was just amazing - and David was the best guide, taking me to places I would have never found otherwise, I already miss the walks in to the secluded breaks, the very forgiving waves, and the friendly vibe on the water, but six days of two sessions/day have left this desk jockey a little wrecked! We visited in mid April, it happened to be Easter week, which is a big deal in Mexico. The beach was crowded during that week, but the following week it completely cleared out. Even when the beach was crowded everyone was so laid back that it didn't matter - and 'crowded' is a relative term, I've seen much worse. This was a much needed escape from a particularly dreary winter, and it went by too fast. Thanks Lisa and David for such a wonderful stay, and please give our best to the dogs, we miss their visits and friendly escorts to the beach :) …
