Santo Cafe, Guanajuato

The chicken mushroom pasta dish was superb!!! It was tecommended to me by a local. The Santo Cafe offers many dishes and coffee. We enjoyed our meal sitting on the the little bridge looking down an alley way.

Stopped here for breakfast and was not disappointed. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been friendlier. I ordered the huevos aztecas and they were delicious. All of the staff chip in and male your experience a great one. Unfortunately the tables on the bridge were already taken. This place is very inexpensive and their food is different and interesting. Great find!

The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. The cheese and chicken quesadillas were excellent!!

7/5 We three British middle aged guys were exploring this town on a Tuesday, seeing museums and having a few drinks here and there. We had just had a drink by the big church at La Tasca de la Paz and then an enjoyable felafel at Habibti. We had seen this unusual cafe/bar busy on the small bridge on our walkabout and as we were close we saw the tables were empty so decided quickly to grab one and then the menu (not our usual sequence but this was special). We were presented with a menu each and the drinks looked reasonably priced. As we had eaten (I had had a Gigante Felafel) we were not hungry but my friend spotted the Quesadillas Sencillas with Guacamole (3 for 60) so was interested to share it. We ordered a Negra Modelo (40),Corona (35) Chelada (5) and a Victoria (35) Michelada (10) as well as the Quesadillas (60). The drinks came in good time and we relaxed on the bridge people watching and I tried out my new iPhone’s Portrait mode on the drinks and Quesadillas when they arrived. The Michelada and chelada came as glasses of the tamarind and lemon juices, rimmed with salt or chilli and the bottles separately. The Quesadillas were very nice, along with the chunky and tasty Guacamole. We ended up sharing them despite being quite full from the felafel before. We spent a pleasant time from 17:15 to 18:10 there and ordered the bill (they only take cash) which came as an accurate 185 with a suggested 18.50 tip on the printed bill (as opposed to just rounding it up to 200/keep the change. We got the 315 change from a 500 note, took the 300 and added another 3! Off we went happy and even fuller than before!
