San Miguel Allende Airport Transportation & Tours

We love this business and the owner Reyes Ortiz. We cannot say enough good about Mr. Ortiz. We had the extremely good fortune of finding Reyes Ortiz to drive us from Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende. I was in Mexico alone with my children, sister and my children’s friend because my husband had to work. There is no way I would drive in Mexico City and while googling, I found this business on Trip Advisor. We had a fantastic experience and thus hired Mr. Ortiz to help us again in September 2020. When Reyes came to pick us up in Mexico City, he knew about a random parking garage that connected to our hotel at the airport. We had no idea! Reyes is so experienced that you can plan on seeing things and learning new things all the way. We stopped on the way to see a former hacienda turned hotel that Hernan Cortez
built for his multi lingual mistress La Malinche. Reyes is happy, funny, always on time, professional and a joy to talk with. Not only does he do airport transfers, he does fantastic tours, day trips and even overnight trips. He is great with children and speaks English well. Reyes is an adventurous and curious man who will help you discover many hidden treasures such and open your eyes even more to amazing Mexico. We know a day with Reyes will be funny, educational, fun and The day trips we have taken are also delicious. Reyes knows fantastic restaurants in each city like Guanajuato, Querétaro, Mineral de Pozos, San Miguel and more. He knows Mexico in and out after years of tours and clients. Reyes is a deep well of knowledge. We cannot recommend him enough. Reyes has shown us so many wonderful things. We are so thankful we found him.

I booked a round trip transport with Rey(es) Ortiz from Mexico City Airport to San Miguel Allende.
When we arrived to San Miguel, Rey suggested that he can provide a one day round trip transport to visit Guanajuato (1500 pesos for 4 people). We asked him to arrange it and he sent a driver to pick us up.
When we arrived to Guanajuato, the driver said I’ll pick you up at 3:00 pm! We said we never agreed on 3:00 pm and this is too early for us. We told him that we plan to spend a full day in Guanajuato. He said you need to talk to Rey.
While on the phone, Rey was so rude and he kept saying you paid too little money and there is an hourly charge after 3:00 pm!
He said if you don’t want to pay the additional hourly fee, you can pay the half, cancel the return and figure out how to come back to San Miguel!!
(BTW, for people who have been to Mexico, 1500 pesos is NOT too little for this distance at all.)
We paid the half and cancelled the return. We found a transportation company in Guanajuato city center and paid the same amount for our return.

Rey is unreliable and rude. Go with other companies and avoid surprises that may ruin your trip.

@Rey. I would suggest you read this quote and educate yourself:

He is not an outsider of our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favour by serving him. He is doing us a favour by giving us the opportunity to do so.”

Our group of 6 utilized Rey’s airport services to and from Leon during our weeklong visit to San Miguel. Always professional and always on time. In addition during our stay we had Rey take our group to Guanajuato, Queretaro, Delores Hildago, and Atotonilco which all turned out to be great trips from San Miguel. During our visit in San Miguel he was more then happy to give us great tips on the city and answer questions for us. Very responsive to emails which worked best for us
