Tucked away gem

In a shaded garden/pool space, covered for protection from the sun sits the hotel’s open air restaurant with the best coconut shrimp ever (in my humble opinion.) A small staff cooks from scratch. The blender makes the salsa sauce, the pineapple sauce for the shrimp. You can go to fancier restaurants, places on the beach or overlooking it, etc., but Del Mar is such a favorite for flavor, value, and great tastes! Far enough off the street, road noise is minimal, palms greet you, and an enjoyable time can be had by all. Accessable, on the #1 bus line...Santiago Zocalo across the street, and HSBC bank next to the Hotel. The beautiful Santiago beach is steps away to walk off your meal. Informal. BUT, new hours are 7AM until 3:30 PM only.

Best Coconut Shrimp in Manzanillo

We got tipped off to this restaurant while having breakfast at the Coffee Bean. It looks like a bar by the pool but man the coconut shrimp was excellant, the staff great (not a lot of English spoken, but they got everything right!), prices very reasonable. Wish we had found it before our last night of vacation.

Enjoy all 3 meals at Del Mar (behind HSBC) in Satiago

When you want a nice meal in a peaceful garden atmosphere, come to Restaurant Del Mar. They are located behind HSBC bank and behind the Hotel Real Posada. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; I’ve had consistently good meals there. Chef is good, wait staff is courteous and attentive. Just went there for a birthday dinner for 16 people... made reservations of course, and it was all good. Went back today with a group and received the same great food and excellent service.
