Private Tour: San Sebastian del Oeste Day Trip

The private guided tour to San Sebastian del Oeste was amazing. We were picked up right at our condominium which as all of you know with multiple age groups going made the day a much easier start.
Our guide Daniel was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about all things about Mexican culture and loved sharing its fascinating history with us.

We stopped at a beautiful tequila hacienda on the way to the town all the while driving through the most beautiful mountains. The town itself felt like we had been transported back 100 years with its quaint buildings and cobblestone streets. The town square and Church were great and we had a great lunch right in town.
We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get to see some beautiful sights and learn more about the wonderful Mexican culture.

We arrived in Puerto Vallarta during a Panama Canal cruise, and there were 8 of us, and wanted to see the UNESCO sight of San Sebastian del Oeste. I found Puerto Vallarta Tours, who coordinates tours with the local tour companies, so our tour was booked with Superior Tours. The booking was very easy, and Jessica met our group at the port and escorted us to our guide/driver Rigo for the tour through the Sierra Madre to the quiet mountain village of San Sebastian. Please know the streets are very rough due to the cobblestones, which is very much part of the charm of this old mining town. It is very rich in history, and you feel like you are turning back time, walking in the main plaza, visiting the church, and also the museum, So much history, we truly had a memorable day, and so glad we all had the opportunity to visit this beautiful area. Rigo was an awesome guide, and ensured we made it back to the port in plenty of time to enjoy Puerto Vallarta. Should you have the opportunity to visit, and have the time, plan to visit this out of the way UNSECO sight, it is well worth the time. Thanks to Rigo for a great tour and day.

I promise to return to this place in due time -- this is a very quaint place for reflections in Puerto Vallarta -- i like the San Sebastian Church here -- and i also like the peace that this place brings to the soul ---

Our family of four booked a private day tour to San Sebastián and really enjoyed learning about Mexican history and culture from Rigo. Our tour guide picked us up promptly at the lobby of our condominium. The van was clean and air conditioned. Rigo stopped at various points of interest before heading to the historical town. Rigo was very knowledgeable and very helpful when my daughter was not feeling well. We appreciate all his help to make her more comfortable during the trip. I would definitely book another trip with this tour company when I come back to Puerto Vallarta.

Our private tour to San Sebastian with Cervando was fantastic!!!! This was our 2nd day with Cervando after spending Sunday on the city tour. Again he customized the day to what we were most interested in. Our stops along the way were so memorable, a hacienda where Richard Burton and Liz Taylor had once stayed, having freshly made corn tortillas at a little roadside stand and the tequila distillery where we got some new recipes using tequila! The little mom & pop restaurant in San Sebastian for lunch was the best!

Had more fun. Was so interesting. Went to many fascinating places along the way. There were 3 of us. Had the best time. The destinations were well chosen. The constant narratives were so fact packed. I highly recommend this tour.

We booked three private tours in Puerto Vallarta through Puerto Vallarta Tours and all three were booked with Superior Tours. Our guide to San Sebastian was Rigo and he was absolutely wonderful. First stop was a place where we could try tortillas/quesadillas made right in front of you. Next was a Tequila distillery which was also wonderful. This place is so small and the tour guides so respectful that if they pass by and see a group already there, then they move on and don’t interrupt your visit. Next was the little town of San Sebastian del Oeste. We had a wonderful lunch in a mexican restaurant. There is also a seafood or italian restaurant to choose from, but the Mexican restaurant was the perfect choice. They don’t have a menu, but bring you dishes family-style. Every dish was wonderful!!! We fully recommend this little Mexican restaurant. Next stop after lunch was the town square, which all of these little towns seem to have. All in all, this was a day well-spent.
