Location / Nearby Playa El Borrego
One of San Blas' main beaches.
Great surfing beach
Closest beach to San Blas so even if you don’t want to swim you can come eat and hang out beachside and have a good time. Waves are pretty strong and this place is known for surfing especially I think at other times of the year when waves get even larger. You have to stay pretty shallow with the kids because it can be rough. However, we came to take surfing lessons so this is a great place for that. Pretty much seems like the best place around for surfing as the other beaches close by are more mellow waves. I was told Los Amigos and Playa Bonita restaurants are the best food. But try Playa Azul if you want the chill surfer vibe. Their food is good and also some American stuff like pancakes on there in case you start getting home sick. Koko Boom Restaurant has a cool second story palapa but service and cleaning of tables was meh.
Great place for a walk
Nice little beach for a relaxing morning walk.
Before heading out of San Blas we decided to spend the morning here.
The sea is not very good for swimming maybe paddle board. We found a dead dog just a few feet from where we were , No good restaurants in that area . Be very aware of the mosquitos they call them JEJENES vicious little bugs. Carry always an extra can of repellent. NOt planning to go back to San Blas EVER
El Borrego beach is a great sandy beach, good surf, plenty of space, but do not recomend the restaurants arround, lousy service mdiocre food, high prices for the place.
Beautiful beach, lovely views, mild surf and lots of eating options
There were 6 of us in the water along about a 1/2 mile stretch of beach. And except for a few people gathered on the beach in front of a nearby restaurant, the beach itself was virtually deserted- idyllic. Easy to relax taking in the combination of the natural beauty of the beach and water with the hills / mountains in the background.
