Great food

This must have been relatively new when we visited in March. We ended up going twice and cannot wait until March 22 to get back and spend a few nights eating there. Truly wonderful food and ambience given its location, it is great.

The Best Food I’ve Had in YEARS

I live between NYC and Miami. I dine out often, at some of the best restaurants and Octopu is the best food I’ve had in years. I visited Isla for a week and ate there 3xs, each dining experience better than the prior. You will not be disappointed, at all!

Hidden gem amongst Isla!

Wow… this restaurant. Walking along Isla Mujeres on Valentine’s Day in the evening, in search of our perfect date spot. We had places in mind, we searched for new places, and we walked by here.. (They had recently opened at the time, I believe). They were so kind and friendly when we inquired about the menu. We kept walking, just to see, then ended up returning because we couldn’t stop thinking about their offerings! We picked the right place. The service was grand, so kind and attentive, but the food… there might not be a more fine preparation of food on the island. So fresh, such a talented chef/crew, so deliciously tasteful and so well prepared! I cannot wait to return to Isla to meet our friends at Octupo again and relish in the wonders of their dishes.

Accidentally came upon this hidden gem...

Was looking for a place to eat that had parking nearby, and was just randomly going down alley ways, when i saw this place. Very unassuming and small outdoor restaurant with 4 tables. The chef welcomed us and immediately asked us what we want, and if we needed time. Right off the bat, I ordered 3 ceviche’s. first came the star of the show, the octopus ceviche. This was mind-blowing and the best ceviche I had on my entire trip to Cancun for a week. He made every thing fresh as I ordered it. The Lobster ceviche came next. it was also excellent. Then came the Shrimp Ceviche. It was very very good. I am glad he started me off with the best ceviche, because by the time I got to the last ceviche, i was stuffed. My wife ordered a whole grilled fish which was excellent. I highly recommend this place. This is a young chef who loves doing what he is doing.

Great up and coming chef. Keep an eye out for this place!!

First off. The food here is great. Absolutely delicious. The only down side is the place is small and service can be slow…but it’s worth every minute you are waiting. Author is a great chef, he is passionate and talented. From the fried Jamiaca chips to the fresh catch of the day we were continually impressed. The aguachiles con caracol was outstanding. Unfortunately they sold out of octopus before we ordered but based off our experience…we’re excited to return and looking forward to what is to come from this place.

Excellent Food, Staff, Service--Everything!!!

We stopped by here one morning to try out their breakfast. We loved everything we ordered and that coffee is just craveable! My pancakes were the lightest, fluffiest and some of the best I have had in a long time. They mentioned some delicious dinner features and we were sold to come back later in the day. For dinner, they welcomed us with some of the best guacamole on the island and the best lobster ceviche- perfect blend of flavors and just amazing. Unfortunately, my son became ill before our entrees were served. We had to get him home and they were very kind and got us our dinner so that we could eat it at home base and take care of our son. We might have had to cancel our order but they were kind enough to come up with a solution so that we could experience some of the best food on the island. If you want to enjoy some culinary magic from some kind, caring and really talented people. Eat here! Try the breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don’t miss out. It is ALL GOOD. Thank you! Can’t wait to return. I will crave that Lobster Ceviche.

Best new restaurant on Isla Mujeres!

Best dinner I’ve ever had on the island by far! Octopu was amazing! A group of four went for an impromptu dinner only an hour before closing and had one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. The owner and chef crafts everything from scratch and the food is fresh and delicious. There are also numerous items that I haven’t seen else where on Isla like aquachile (spicy, tart, incredible!) and lobster mac and cheese with a delicious whole tail of fresh seafood. My friends and I are here for another week and will definitely be back for another dinner and to try the breakfast. Located just one street over from the Main Street downtown and near Playa Norte, don’t walk, run to Octopu!

Orgasm for the mouth.

This restaurant has only been open around 5 months. The food was beyond anything I've ever tasted! It was like an orgasm in my mouth. Divine! I had the white wine pasta and I practically melted away. Well worth a visit

Small place huge experience!

What a great place. This is not a typical restaurant. Like eating at a friend’s outdoor kitchen. Service was spot on and the food was fantastic. Got the grilled whole octopus and some other sides and it was all great. This will be the first restaurant I hit when we go back.

An unbelievable discovery

What an unbelievable downtown discovery on the island. For the Island foodies you must try this new restaurant. I live downtown, eat out every night, usually at the regular places downtown. I eat octopus when I’m here 3 to 4 times a week. The flavor, the tenderness, presentation, was amazing and so far the best. I don’t usually leave reviews, this food and place certainly deserves one. I only had the Mosaico fish and octopus served with a green sauce. Five star. The only downside, they played Michael Anthony the entire time I was there.
