Always Reliable
Whether the fun and lively atmosphere or the terrific crust ... Mama Bears is the only place to go when in Bloomington to get pizza ... and get a half baked to go!

Surprisingly excellent
We ate there 4 nights in a row. Meals are both traditional American and Mexican. Pizza was thin crust, perfectly cooked and really excellent. Filet Mignon on steak night was really excellent and very reasonable $260 pesos for a salad, steak, side vegetables, baked potato, and a beer. About $13 . US. 3/4 night had live music from jazz to rock for 3 hours early evening. Very low key pleasant place to eat. Service was excellent.

Amazing local flavor
We attended Blues night on Monday where very talented musicians played classic rock on the patio with a backdrop of a gorgeous sunset over the lagoon and ocean. Mama B’s food always satisfies. Such a cool vibe of great food, great tunes and great view.

Fun and welcoming
Very welcoming. talked with a few "gringos" who lived here and they had some great information for us. The food was good. Next time I will try the highly rated desserts! Nice seating, house wine was great! We were told of many special events Mama Bear’s hosts which we will make a point to go to when we move there in a year. If you are jonseing for American comfort food they have daily specials. We got the pizza and it was very good.

My local pizzeria
Great spot to enjoy live music, pizza or specials like Monday Meatloaf Jam. Yes, the meatloaf is good but the local musicians and visiting musicians gather from 5 PM to closing for a great jam session. Probably the best part of Mama Bears is it’s staff. Always welcoming and smiling, I love it!
