Simply incredible!

I visited this restaurant for the third time. I have always enjoyed my meals here. Tonight my meal was simply amazing. I understand that they have a new chef who has just arrived from Mexico City. That man can really cook! He’s a true artist. We started our meal with two salads, a blue cheese salad, and a hearts of palm salad. Both were truly amazing. The blue cheese salad was huge, and it was simply stunning. My husband ordered the shrimp tostada as an appetizer, and he really enjoyed it. The red sauce was very good. For my main course I enjoyed a fish with cilantro sauce. It was tender and yummy. My sister enjoyed the tuna, and my husband enjoyed a chicken dish all were fantastic. For dessert we split the French macaroons with avocado ice cream, and the banana macadamia nut. It had spun sugar. Yum! I really hope the new chef gets the attention he deserves, because he’s an incredible chef. The atmosphere is lovely, and we had a table overlooking the Morelia Cathedral. The prices are a bit expensive for Morelia, but I will gladly pay for such fine dining. The atmosphere, service, and menu selection can’t be beat. Go...you won’t be disappointed. Nicely done!

Classy

My wife and I enjoyed an outstanding dinner at this very elegant restaurant. At lunch we had very rustic quesadillas at the butterfly sanctuary and here we were enjoying a first class dinner at a very elegant restaurant just a few hours later. What a day we had. The room is as nice as any I have been in around the world. Lovely lighting, fabrics and of course a view of the cathedral lit up at night. Our meals matched the quality of the room. My wife had salmon baked in a dish with pastry cover. Very well done. We shared a pear and goat cheese salad which was plenty for 2 and was delicious. The food is continental rather than Mexican which I was happy to have.The service was very attentive. It wasn’t busy. The actual restaurant is upstairs in the Casa Grande Morelia which is by itself a beautiful property. If we weren’t staying elsewhere this would is where we would want to be. And the price?? A real bargain!

Best Meal of our Trip to Morelia

Jorge, the bellboy who took us on a tour of the Casa Grande Hotel Botique shows us the restaurant as part of his tour and we knew we wanted to eat there.We were not disappointed. The restaurant was gorgeous, filled with history, and a delightful contrast of modern lighting. The food was not only delicious, but gorgeous when it was presented. And Aureliano, our waiter, was terrific. We are a fairly playful group of friends and he was having fun with us. When we return to Morelia and stay at Casa Grande Hotel Botique we will dine at La Aldaba again and will not settle for any other waiter.

So Good We Went Back

I usually find restaurants with a view lack good food, but this restaurant changed my opinion. The gorgeous second floor view of the main square and cathedral also kept us above the often annoying street vendors. Service was impeccable and food beautifully prepared. A shared squid appetizer was succulent and nicely spiced. Risotto, lamb, pork chops, fish - all well-prepared.
