The amazing adventure of a cooking class with Chef Alex

We were delighted by the cooking class that was hosted by Chef Alex. He prepared Beef Stufato and Apple Strudel for us and shared many wonderful tips and hints about the preparation and his preferred places for fresh ingredients. He holds classes once a week at the moment and hosts between 6 and 8 people for each class. The food and company is wonderful and he shared with us his story and the plans that he has. At the moment he is also making and selling fresh sausages and pate and is expanding his offerings by also offering high quality fresh cheeses etc. This is also a great place to have your entertaining needs met as he will prepare full meals according to your needs given a few days notice. Collect your meals from him and reheat in your oven (if needed, otherwise collect fresh from his oven to serve at your table immediately). Alex has a good menu which is changed weekly as well as daily specials and is open for an intimate dining experience from 2 to 9 each day except We were so impressed that we have already signed up for next week’s class. Cooking class

This is one of the best cooking classes I’ve ever had. The class size is small (6 to 8 people) and personal. You have to chance to watch, ask lots of questions and engage in stimulating conversation. Alex is a great chef with many years of experience and he has trained some of the best chefs here in Ajijic. You get to eat what was prepared in front of you (in most cases). Our class was preparing apple strudel and beef estufa (Italian stew), but since the estufa takes two hours to finish in the oven, we ate what Alex had prepared earlier. The price is very reasonable 500 pesos per person but doesn’t include wine (available for 90 pesos per glass). Coffee and a biscotti are included. Plan on at least two hours for the class. We enjoyed it so much that we signed up for the next class. They are every Thursday at 11 am.
