EXCELLENT TOUR OF GUADALAJARA

Fernando gave an excellent tour. He combined history of Guadalajara with that of the cathedral , churches, natural history and at my request a little more focussed on aspects of pre Columbia’s history. He was able to deal with any questions concerning Guadalajara and Mexico in general that were beyond the main content of the tour. When you are in Guadalajara, this tour is a must! It greatly enriched my experience of Guadalajara.

History comes alive with Fernando

Fernando shared his passion for history and knowledge of the city in an easy paced tour. Because it is the holiday season (paid concerts) and it was a Sunday tour, we were unable to see inside the theater and government building, but we saw more churches, and outdoor statues. He stayed with us and showed us best places to eat in the Mercardo and made sure we found our parked car after the tour. The murals were incredible and thought provoking. We left feeling satiated and felt as if we had made a new friend.

Looking forward to visiting the city again. Any tour Fernadao is offering, take it. Like a favorite colleges professor, he makes the subject matter come alive.

Perfect start of your GDL visit

This is one of the best tours I did in Mexico. Fernando really knows his history. I was planning on doing the free walking tour. But decided to join Fernando. He really took the time and didnt rush anything. A real personal approach. You don’t see this often.
When in Guadalajara start your visit with Fernando. He knows the hotspots. We ended in a bar with a few Mezcals and even there the passionate Fernando continued with telling me al sort of info about his beautiful city. I WILL BE BACK!!!

Most Excellent Tour - Guadalajara walking tour

This walking tour is a great way to visit the core of Guadalajara and learn it’s history. Fernando Ayala was our terrific tour guide. The 3+ hour tour covered art, architecture, religion, history and politics. He holds a college degree in local Jalisco history and agave beverages (who knew that was even possible). Fernando enjoys sharing local history, gives detailed descriptions on architecture and helped us understand the complex Orozco murals. Fernando is highly recommended as a tour guide. Request Fernando by name and you will not be disappointed!! His phone number is: +52 33 20 62 92 64

An Enthusiastic Guide Makes Tour Come Alive

All of the little details Jonathan was able to share. I loved visiting the government palace and seeing Orozco’s Hildago mural. Also liked the visits to the cathedrals and the bits of cultural and social histories. I recommend doing the walk on a weekday when the streets are as clear as they were when we took the walk.

Excellent Tour

My day of touring with Fernando was on my last day in Guadalajara. Tours can be a gamble..some good..some mediocre. Well...I really hit the jackpot. Fernando was an EXCELLENT guide. He was confident, knowledgable Guadalajara’s history and Mexican history. He’s communicates the topics clearly. His English is excellent. I will definitely seek Fernando out for more tours when I return. Also Fernando, great time walking through Mercado Libertad! Thanks again.

Wonderful

Fernando was a fantastic tour guide! He’s very knowledgeable about the history of Guadalajara. It was great to learn about some little known facts about the city and its historical leaders. Fernando was also super nice and went the extra mile by taking us through the mercado at the end to find some tacos and tejuino that I was craving. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to know more history than what is typically shared on a basic tour of the city.
