Galeria Studio Cerrillo was founded in 2002 to allow the talented and varied artist of Chiapas an outlet for their visual works to be presented in a professional and classic manner. Since then the gallery has had over 40 exhibitions showcasing artist from Mexico and around the world. The gallery is the only full time cultural space dedicated to the plastic artist in San Cristobal.

Small and very cozy gallery in the middle of one of the neighborhoods with more history in town. Beautiful and unique pieces created by the owners of the gallery that will make you feel at home. If you re looking for a unique piece of art that will connect you with San Cristóbal this is the place to visit.

Art and objects

A great way to penetrate the El Cerrillo neighborhood, and San Cristóbal in general, is to see what’s showing at GSC. I’ve been several times and seen local, and Mexico City artists, as well as international odd stuff.

A treat of an Art Gallery

Galeria Studio Cerrillo is a special little gem in the San Cristobal art gallery community. It shows the work of artists from around the world as well as locals. Just the paintings outside on the walls are worthy of a visit. New to the Gallery is the work of jewelry maker Dani Sagastume. Beautiful, exciting work!

Neighborhood Gallery/ Little Hidden Jewel

If you want to drop into an intimate, funky, inspiring space and see what the art scene in San Cristobal is up to, this is your space. Over the years it has been a venue for up and coming artists and such happenings as Thai dancers delicately dancing on a moonlit street in front of the gallery, graffiti and stencil artists... mesmerizing animals of the planet, painted floor to ceiling on the gallery walls. At the moment you will be delighted by Dani’s lively and
colorful jewelry designs and if you’re lucky, on the opposite wall, you will find some of Cisco’s intriguing portrait photography. Definitely worth getting off the beaten tourist path and heading over to Barrio Cerrillo to check this out.

Unique and Interesting Art and Original Jewelry

This Gallery is such a breath of fresh air, I recommend it to all visitors to San Cristobal. I have been there when there was the Art Show inside and outside spilling into the street great music. Do yourself a favor and visit.

Great local art and jewelry

San Cristóbal has so many great spaces, but this one, in the under-appreciated Cerrillo neighborhood, might be my favorite. Their exhibitions always such fun events, and now they’re selling cool artisan jewelry.

What a Trip

I went to an exhibition/show at the gallery and it was such a trip. Really interesting things going on there. It’s also evident that they are supporting local artist which is great. Really nice gallery.
