Expendio de Maiz offers a truly superb meal and dining experience - it’s food with a story, that is actually farm-to-table, made with passion and without pretext. It’s setting is casual without frills, but the food is truly epic. It was, without question, the best meal we have had in some time. A few notes for the interested: -breakfast and lunch only. - there are no reservations or call ahead seating. Do not arrive with an expectation that you will be seated quickly. They can accommodate only about 20 dinners at 4 tables at a time, and those diners can stay for as long as they like. Because of this, the estimated wait times are really just guesses. We were originally quoted 40 minutes, but we waited 2.5hrs, and it was worth totally worth it. Grab a drink or coffee nearby. They will text you when it’s time to come back to the restaurant. Your patience will be rewarded, as you will then be able to dine for as long as you like. - they can accommodate any food allergies and dietary restrictions. - the menu is unpublished, and consists of whatever is fresh that day, chef’s choice, served by the course. You can order each course as you wish, and stop whenever you’re satisfied. Each course is a surprise, and a very pleasant one at that. -the house pulque is fantastic.

This place does not take reservations and they only have 4 tables so either go during the week and/or go with patience but the wait is definitely worth it! They pay homage to corn, they don’t have a menu and the food is incredibly tasty, if you are an adventurous eater or even a vegetarian, you will have an amazing meal here. You will taste the freshness and depth of the Mexican culture through their food, will definitely visit again!

Definitely a ‘must’ if you spend time in Mexico City. No menu, they just bring you the delicious tacos until you say ‘stop’. Very good artenesal corn beer, and very friendly stuff. The place is very small, so it is a good idea to go there and make a reservation, especially on weekends. Unfortunately I only could eat just 3 taco, but the last one was the best. They have also very good prices. Just go there and enjoy!

This restaurant is ridiculously tasty. As you can see from its name the focus is on the variety of ways that corn can be served. It is a gastronomic and heavenly experience. The format is interesting because you simply eat the things that the waiters bring to you. You don’t have to accept them if you don’t want them and then you wait for the next dish to come. Everything I ate was among the most delicious things I have ever had. This is simply an exquisite casual restaurant in a beautiful section of Mexico City called Roma. Come here for an amazing eating experience.

The variety of dishes, the anticipation and curiosity over the next course when there’s no menu, delectable plates of food following one after the other - it’s the best type of lunch adventure.

Walk up the stairs and you will find a cute little unpretentious restaurant with great and original tacos. I had the veal bistec and the tuna taco. Good service and margaritas too.

This is an absolute must for any foodies coming to Mexico City. There’s no menu so just lean back and enjoy the perfectly prepared local food. It’s a popular spot and you will probably have to wait in line for a seat. But have patience, it’s worth the wait!

An array of various corn dishes which ingredients are sourced locally and with passion are displayed in their flavors and imaginative creations. You’ll want to bring a friend so you can try as many things but there’s not a lot of seats. You have to be patient at this place as things are made to order and the wait is well worth it!

Unexpected gem. Experience and food quality amazing. Only 2 tables of 6-8 people (you gotta wait and share), no menu, just rounds of surprise dishes which they bring to you with the best recently made tortillas in town (this is not an exaggeration). Until you tell them you’ve had enough. Obviously they ask you before if you had any food allergies or things you dislike so they don’t serve you any of it so no worries. Highly recommended.
