If your looking for something special to eat El Vigía is one of the best options at Colonia La Ropa in Zihuatanejo. Open from 7:30 am to 10:30 pm. Look for our terrace with a beautiful garden view. All our ingridients are local and fresh, so you will be eating clean and delicious. We have vegan options too. Open for special dinners: Jazz Festival, Guitar Fest, Christmas & New Year (reservation needed).

Magical place, delicious meals!

Magical. Delicious. Romantic. Welcoming. We were visiting in hot and humid July for our anniversary and walked past El Vigia our first day in town. We stopped for breakfast the next morning (as well as another day!) and had delicious and affordable chilaquiles con huevos and huevos veracruz. We decided to come back for an anniversary dinner that I will NEVER forget. The restaurant was quiet with beautiful romantic music playing, twinkling outdoor lights, an open and airy atmosphere with a beautiful garden behind us. Waitstaff were so kind, personable and attentive while still giving us space to enjoy our evening and meal. The food was incredibly good, cocktails were spot-on and they even treated us with a special little carrot cake to celebrate our anniversary. I will always remember this experience and thank them for treating and feeding us well!

OH MY GOSH!!

Best seafood linguine ever! Full of seafood and I asked for spicy red sauce. WOW! We met the owner who presented a pear gorgonzola salad for our party to share. My husband and friend had the lobster. 3 pieces! Fabulously prepared. The lemon drops were to die for. After we were done the owners wife Marta introduced herself to us and we promised to come back. We are returning tomorrow for breakfast and Sunday for their wood fired pizza. 2 lobster dinners, 3 drinks, seafood linquine, shrimp and shrimp tacos all for less than $100.

Missing my friends and the food at one of the 2 best restaurants in Zihu

This is a MUST VISIT for anyone staying in or near Zihuatanejo! The food is excellent - varied menu the greatest staff and enjoyable atmosphere! You cannot ask for better than this! We are very fortunate to stay close by when on vacation, but would gladly cab from Ixtapa or downtown Ziha to dine here for any meal during the day!

Off the beaten track.

On the road leading to the far end of Playa La Ropa. Well worth the 70 peso cab ride from downtown, or in our case, a 2 minute walk. Top notch food, professional service, and an interesting interior backdrop. Great mix of Mexican and Mediterranean food

Wonderful Valentines Day

Our group of seven enjoyed a wonderful meal with music. A special valentines treat. The food was excellent with a beautiful garden atmosphere. Great service!

Great food, relaxed atmosphere

The restaurant is in a charming, casual, garden-like setting which goes well with the excellent food. Besides the seafood, etc, there are some really nice vegetarian options. We enjoyed it so much we went back several times during our stay in Playa La Ropa.

Lovely patio, exceptional food and service

This restaurant is so attractive and welcoming. The menu has a nice mix of items with the daily special our usual choice. My husband, after conferring with our waiter and the chef, decided on the tuna which was impeccable. I had the "soft" beef with vegetables and gravy, nicely prepared and very satisfying. The staff is just so attentive and ready to please.
