You “go to” Place in San Aigustinillo

I lived in San Augustinillo for three months and am so glad I found this place early in my trip. Christina, the owner, makes you feel at home every time and Luisa, the chef makes an AMAZING dish EVERY TIME. It has been a home away from home for me and my husband. Enchiladas, enfrijoladas, omelettes, chiliquilles, huevos el gusto a mexicana and occasionally a special mole made by Christina’s husband. Come for the food. Stay for the company. Love this place!

Go here for the coffee, eggs and people

We came here three times during our time in SA. Cristina is the kindest, sweetest Italian lady who will serve your eggs and coffee with the biggest smile. It felt like we were having breakfast in someone’s home. So tasty and cosy. We’ll be back next year!

Best Breakfast is San Agustinillo

The breakfast here is fresh, homemade and satisfying. The back bean enfrijolades are delicious, especially with a couple of sunny up eggs on top. I was a bit tired of tortillas and the huevos mexicana with a side of rice and beans really hit the spot. The dishes are not greasy at all and the owner is a lovely Italian woman who waits on the tables.

BEST CHILAQUILES IN THE AREA!

I am mexican, and trust me, this place has the best chilaquiles, enfrijoladas, etc in the area! Cristina is an amazing host, and makes you feel extremely welcome in her restaurant. My only issue is that I discovered this place at the end of our trip, so we were able to eat there only two times (out of the full week we stayed in Mazunte). Make it a must during your visit. I’m obsessed with the home made salsas we had there. Coffee was great! Next door there’s an argentinian guy selling empanadas, and those were very good too! Cheers from NY to the staff at Frida!!!

Welcoming and Delicious

As others have already mentioned, Cristina is an incredibly warm and welcoming person. This quickly became one of our favorite places during our two-week stay in San Agustinillo and we returned several times. Everything was delicious. Our high-energy kiddos loved chatting with Cristina and spending time with her friendly dogs, Timo and Betty. She always greeted us with a smile. Not to be missed.

Delicious!

This is a definite must-visit place if you are in the area. Genuine Mexican food, where a lot of the other options in the village are Italian or French. The mole is delicious, and the huevos rancheros is amazing. Highly recommended. And the owner, Christina, is lovely too.

Amazing food and people

This cafe was one of my rituals while I was here. I had a great coffee and the best breakfast I may have ever eaten. The eggs a la mexicana with smoked beans are incredible and the owner Christina is a sweetheart. I enjoyed my mornings here so much it was one of my favourite parts of my trip. The conversations and the love I received made me feel like I was at home!

Great breakfast!

Ate here twice during our stay. There is no printed menu but it is written on a blackboard. Had Mexican eggs and enchiladas with green sauce. Fresh squeezed juice. Owners very friendly.
