They’re open late night and

They’re open late night and a bit off the beaten path, but worth the walk- apparently they open from 8pm-1am. I had the pork tacos with salsa verde- freaking awesome.

Wow.. delicious tacos

This place was very close to where we were staying and we went there and that first night I think all of Oaxaca was there, it was packed and they told us it could take about 30 minutes to receive our food and yes it took that long but it was well worth the wait so much that we returned two nights later, luckily it was only a 15 minute wait. We tried both tacos the Lechon con Pierna and the Lechon con Chicharron and we both liked more the one with Chicharron, we loved the crunch you get. Give them a try late night after bar hopping.

EAT HERE

Among the best tacos I have ever had, hands down. Very rich and meaty. They also make tortas and tostadas. Both varieties (lechon con chicharron and lechon con pierna) offered are truly excellent. Try them both. This is a great spot for dinner or a naughty late night snack. Also, they have an amazing hot sauce (ask for la salsa especial) that is a must try for chili lovers. The staff are all friendly and will ensure you enjoy your visit. Don’t go only once...

Amazing Tacos

Best Pork Tacos in Oaxaca City and some of the best I’ve had in all of Mexico. There is a reason why there are 10 cars double parked all along the street next to this taco stand, their tacos de Lechon and Chicharron are amazing. If you like spicy food make sure you ask them for "Especiales" and your taco will be topped with their special Habanero and 3 Chile Salsa, its delicious. The tostadas were also amazing, light and crunchy. When you sell only one product for 30 years from 8 pm to 5 am you know these folks have perfected their craft and it shows. If Mr. Apolinar is there, he will take your order and give you the best service...truly a special place

Must try food truck

There’s no argument that Lechoncito de Oro is one of the best kept secrets of the local street food scene. We liked it so much that we came here both nights while we were in Oaxaca. During both late-night visits, we barely spotted any non-locals. The tostada with chicharrón is the thing to try here: the succulent pork combined with bits of crispy chicharrón underneath a generous layer of salsa verde is out of this world. I couldn’t help but ask for more picante chili sauce for an even more spicy kick. The crunchy tostada served a perfect contrast to the toppings. Hence, I slightly prefers it over the tacos. The crew loves seeing new faces and we really enjoyed interacting with them throughout the night. P. S. The hours they posted is usually accurate, except one night they opened at midnight instead of 8pm.

Hidden Gem

This was a bit out of the way but worth the walk. It was really crowded and fun atmosphere. Its completely loose and unorganized but yet they get the job done well. The tacos de chicharon and pierna were both great. The prices are unbelievably cheap. This was a really fun experience.

Try the salsa especial if you dare...otherwise just order a lechon con chicharon and enjoy a delightfully porky snack.

The best taco truck in Oaxaca!

While visiting Oaxaca over thanksgiving, my wife and I were referred here by both our hotel guy and friends who had traveled her a few months ago. Oh my lord, these are the best carnitas tacos ever! Early to late, they will make you happy. They have tortas as well, but the tacos are a deal at 15 pesos each (75 cents at our exchange rate). SO FLIPPING GOOD!
