Best chain restaurant for Mexican food in Mexico
I have visited "El Bajío" several times, at many of it’s different venues in Mexico City. Mexico’s gastronomy is very rich and complex, and you will not find a single place to cover it all; yet, "El Bajío" covers a good area that I would call south east Mexico with parts of Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, and Oaxaca (even when the name goes better with Guanajuato). In summary I have enjoyed every single one of my menu choices, highlighting the plantain quesadilla filled with black beans. I could have those quesadillas and eat them, non-stop, until I die. Prices are reasonable and service is usually good. Please do not expect to be treated like royalty, there are other places in Mexico where that can happen, but you would either have to pay a lot more, or go to other town, far from Mexico City.

Great mole!!!!
For a traditional Mexican fare El Bajío is perfect. You have to try the Mole Poblano... Mind blowing. Service is excellent too. Highly recommended.
