EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE

David, Jesus y todo su equipo fueron excelentes! This is a great day trip filled with a lot of history and the guides are actual Mayan descendants! The food is amazing and the stop at Valladolid is also a nice break to stretch your legs and get local street food. It’s a long trip so the comfy bus ride came in hand for naps! Make sure to go with as least things as possible and as comfortable as possible to enjoy your time.

Incredible!

We were picked up by our tour guide, Ricardo early to start the day. It is a long day so make sure you get rest the night before! He was very informative throughout the tour and was really sweet to everyone. He made sure that no one felt left out and teeter-tottered between Spanish and English. Chichen Itza is wonderful... like wow! We were handed off by Ricardo to the Mayan tour guides throughout our time there. It was truly amazing; then, we headed off to the local gastronomy part! Delicious food and drinks! You must try the Chaya (a green drink). Ricardo then takes us around to show us how they make their food, art, etc. It’s really cool! The Ikkil Cenote and Valladolid are both beautiful places. I simply wish we had a longer time in these two places but I understand for the tour timing purposes. Highly recommend this tour! Gracias Ricardo!

Great sights but need more time at stops

First, I need to say that this tour was booked through our resort, so there may be some variation.

There were incredible parts of this trip and parts that were not so good. Chichen Itza is amazing and definitely worth a visit. The cenote was also quite amazing. However poor time management and cramming too many things prevented these activities from being as great as they were.

The bus was late to pick us up and then it is a long 3-4 hours to Chichen Itza (it depends on what order they pick you up). While the bus guides were knowledgeable, they would switch between English and Spanish so quickly that it was often difficult to understand what they were saying. Everything at Chichen Itza was amazing. Our tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable and the ruins are incredible. Afterwards, we went to the the Mayan restaurant. Food was good but nothing special (and may have been the cause of our sickness afterwards). My wife and I personally felt we spent too much time there as they tried selling us things for about an hour. We then went to the cenote, which was beautiful but because of the late start and other wasted time, we barely got to swim for a half hour. The trip ended with a stop in Valladolid, which was brief but was more shopping.

All told, if we could do it over we would have preferred a tour that had less stops but spent more time at the places.

Alexis is a rock star!

In our recent vacation to Cancun, we booked multiple tours through the resort, so they were all with different companies. Our favorite, BY FAR, was this tour to Chichen Itza with our guide, Alvaro. He was so personable, funny, charming and knowledgeable. He and the driver (whose name I didn’t catch) were very covid safe, they provided masks and hand sanitizer at every stop. Alvaro spoke in both Spanish and English the entire time and even spoke Portuguese to the couple from Brazil. He taught us Mayan culture from the tour sites and even from his own perspective (he is Mayan himself). The tour was fantastic, the caves are absolutely to die for and our last stop had the BEST food. He presented how to make the food step by step, and we were treated with a taco buffet at the end. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough, hopefully you get lucky and get Alvaro! Take tons of pictures and get that clout!

Amazing

Alexis and the Estrella team from Ekinox tours did an excellent job of guiding us through Chicken Itza tour. Alexis’ passion shined through and his discussions were very informative and entertaining. It was truly a pleasure meeting you. We appreciate your genuine touch with your stories and first hand information.

We highly recommend this team! Thank you for such a memorable tour to an amazing historical location!

Great tour

My wife and I went on a tour last week in Cancun with Juan Carlos. He was fantastic! Passionate, informative, knowledgeable, friendly, and his ability to use his IPAD to show the tour group pictures and draw constellation designs was amazing. Best tour guide ever and he should be promoted and given a big raise.

Great tour

Our guide Juan was amazing! We learned quite a lot about Mayan culture. I have been fascinated with Chitzen Itza since I was a small child, reading any books I could find on the subject but Juan taught me so much new information! The lunch we were served was one of the best meals we had during our vacation & swimming in the cenote was the perfect way to end the tour. The bus was quite comfortable & the driver was very experienced, navigating through narrow roads & traffic with ease. Very great value for money. Highly reccomend.
