Family owned fine dining experience at an affordable price!

This place is in Old Town 3 1/2 blocks from the Guadalajara Pharmacy on Calle Lazaro Cardenas. It is on the top of our must go list when we visit Vallarta. The food is excellent, Fernando is truly a master chef. The atmosphere is relaxed and suitable for a quite date night or family gathering. This family restaurant is on the first floor of their home and it feels like they have invited you to dine with them. Highest recommendation. Try the pepper steak, seafood or pasta. You won’t be disappointed.

Go here for a special traditional family dining experience

I went here based on all the trip advisor reviews. It certainly didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and a large portions. LOTS of garlic bread with the meal. The flan was amazing! I ended up staying much longer than expected because of the live music and family atmosphere that made one feel like part of this wonderful family.

Another great evening at Chenandos

Not our first time at this neighborhood family-run restaurant in Emiliano Zapata. They never disappoint. This time we had the Seafood pasta, the Filet Mignon and a new menu item, the shrimp filled crepes. Prompt, friendly service and great food. This is one of our favorite eateries.

Hidden gem in Zona Romantico

Excellent restaurant with excellent food and service! Highly recommend the sea bass with lobster sauce! We also had the shrimp pasta that had a generous amount of shrimp and tasted delicious! This quaint restaurant is off the beaten path, but once you’ve found it you will want to return!

Excellent!!

A week ago we we arrived in Puerto Vallarta and immediately made reservations to eat at our favorite seafood restaurant. I had sea bass in lobster sauce my husband had octopus with garlic and olive oil both were outstanding. Last night we returned I ordered sea bass again this time it was served with a Buchmel parmesan sauce. My husband had pasta with octopus and lobster sauce. Oh sooooo goood. We are returning again tonight. LOL (can you tell we like it here)? The special is Fresh Lobster. Trust me you must try this family owned restaurant. You will Not be disappointed. They have great pepper steak too. Everything is excellent.

Amazing!

I will definitely be back to chenandos! Most friendly staff and the food is AMAZING! I’ve never had a better steak in my life! If you’re in puerto vallarta, you need to stop by and try this place! So impressed with the hospitality and friendliness.

Only one restaurant by this name!

Excellent food but make sure this is the restaurant the taxi takes you to. There’s a similar named one and the taxis try to take you to it because they get commission. Chenandos is a small intimate bistro type restaurant. Our amazing waiter is the son of the chef and his wife. We ordered the foods recommended on prior reviews. Do it. Cheese gratin is a must have for an appetizer. It’s amazing and with roasted mushrooms and small diced of fresh pineapple which totally make the dish. We both ordered the Pepper steak and again, amazing. Large servings and couldn’t finish it. They were out of cheesecake so I ordered the flan that the son recommended. His mom makes the desserts. Amazing and the best I’ve had. The sangria is ginormous and amazing also. This is off the beaten path and they are only open at night but please find them and go eat there.

Fantastic, off the beaten path.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our supper recently. Waiter was excellent and nice small restaurant ambiance. We had the Gratin cheese appetizer, shared the mixed salad and Peppercorn steak. All was prepared nicely by the owner/chef who came to our table to discuss the menu and checked back to see how our meal was. We highly recommend Chendanos.

Dinner

Came recommended. It was just terrific . We all had different meals... sea bass, ribs, seafood lobster combo and Pepper steak . The food and service was wonderful . Great service and friendly staff . It’s a small family run restaurant and we felt like family there. Highly recommend it if you are in Puerto Vallarta

local gem with amazing food

This place was recommended and did not disappoint! I had the sea bass and it was the best food I have eaten in a long time. It was amazing. The restaurant is small and run by a family, its very comfortable and clean. It’d hidden in the E Zapata neighborhood- go check it out and you will love it.
