Best vegan pizza we’ve ever had

We each got a different vegan pizza and agreed they were the best we'd ever had. Ate the leftovers for breakfast! We ate breakfast there one day and thought it was the healthiest and tastiest ever. The vegan tiramisu is "to live for"!

Love Robin & Steve’s place

Always a great breakfast here often with live music and great ambiance. They have nice rooms too. Its close to the square and a great place to land if you want to see puerto morelos.

Go here!

The food and service here was absolutely amazing. We had breakfast here and went for the vegan pizza night. Both were some of the best food of the entire trip! P.S. we also got the gluten free pizza crust and it was equally amazing

Fresh and fabulous food

We had the “divorced eggs” with the most delicious rioja and verde sauces. Everything is so fresh and yummy! And everyone who works at Layla is so friendly and kind. We are so lucky to have found the guesthouse and this restaurant- what gems in Puerto Morelos!

Great food and vibes!

My girlfriend and I came here twice during our stay in Puerto Morelos. The server was very friendly and the atmosphere was laidback. The first time my girlfriend had the miso morning soup + cocoloco drink and I had the egg-spress sandwich with bacon & + cappuccino. The second time around we had the sandwich, huevos rancheros, fruit plate, and coffee. The food was very delicious, fresh and the service attentive and friendly. Would come here again!

Delightful in Every Way!

As the world begins to open up, people will again crowd the beaches of the Mexican Caribbean. It is well worth your while to skip Cancún and choose Puerto Morales. Café Layla is south of the plaza and is as warm and inviting as it is delicious. Sofia is more an ambassador for the Cafe’s food and service than a server. She and everyone on staff provide food and drinks of the highest quality. The menu and specials are unique and prepared with care, using combinations that highlight local sources and healthy options. Don’t make the mistake of equating "healthy" with bland and tasteless. Far from it. Our breakfast was delicious and the choices on the menu would please vegan, carnivore, and omnivore alike. We feasted and laughed so much that owner Robin had to check in to see what the commotion was about. He sat, visited, joined in the laughter, and then took us on a tour of the hotel property. Follow the stairwell to the roof and marvel at the 360 degree vista, from horizon to horizon. The sea breeze will sooth your soul. Highly recommended and we look forward to our next visit!

amazing!

Jime and her husband are amazing. WE went to listen to Jime sing one night which if you ever have the opportunity you 100% should! She is beyond talented and puts on such a fun show! We also ate pizza while at the cafe. It was vegan and I would never have known the flavor was spectacular! Thank you we really enjoyed ourself.

Warm, friendly, fun!

Going to Cafe Layla is like going to friend’s cafe but with awesome food and service and events and music and fun! Their menu is diverse for all tastes including great Asian Fusion food. We had their T-Morgan spring rolls, yummy! I also love their Cenote Egg-Spress sandwich on English muffin. Everything is delicious! And the owners are warm hearted people, educated, well travelled and fun to be with!

Lovely, laid-back, healthy cafe

We typically don’t return to restaurants, as we like to sample as many different venues as possible. However, Cafe Layla served the perfect meals for my sensitive stomach and we just couldn’t stay away! Robin, the owner, was charming and made you feel welcome with his interesting stories about the area and his journey to create this oasis in the jungle. Don’t miss it!

Outstanding dishes and smoothies; Vegan and gluten-free if you choose!

First off, the atmosphere is wonderfully laid back and chill. You can go with a friend or even solo; there will always be someone interesting and welcoming to chat with. Or, you can sit, read a book, work on your laptop, and enjoy your solitude and amazing cappuccino. It’s very clean and everything is eco-friendly. The pizzas are their specialty. They make a cheese that has no dairy and tastes out of this world. The smoothies are deliciously fresh as are all their juices. The frittata is as good as any quiche or egg dish I’ve ever tasted. I highly recommend going to Cafe Layla for the food, music, great service, and general atmosphere. Oh, and the prices are excellent.
