It’s always easy to say " I couldn’t do that." when it comes to skills you have never tried. I always felt that way about art, having never attempted it before. Well, 10 years ago, my wife and I wandered into Pat’s gallery during Art Walk and started talking with her about both my desire and hesitancy. Pat immediately put us at ease and basically said "yes you can!" That started "our art adventure" that we have continued to pursue each winter when we are in PV. Pat has an amazing way of teaching. She provides you just the right amount of guidance and then lets you go. But you can be confident that she is watching you out of the corner of her eye and will always come and subtly help you fix immediate issues, while helping you learn the broader techniques that help build your confidence. The great news for beginners is that she has many repeat students who immediately put you at ease while offering advice or "lessons learned."

Another great thing about Pat’s teaching methods is that she mixes things up. You can sign up for a 3-day class, a weekend seminar, or a multi-week class. She also mixes up locales, holding classes in her convenient Basilio Badillo location, but also doing outdoor raku classes in El Tuito. Not only are these opportunities to learn new skills, but also an opportunity to visit new places, meet new people, and enjoy the hospitality of this beautiful small village.

If you have always wondered if you could "do art," come and get your hands dirty and spirits lifted. Yes you can!

This is truly a place to come to , to explore your artistic nature. Start small and see where it leads you. I did, eight years ago, after trying to find lessons for years, I found Pat....who somehow manages to bring out the best in ALL her students, no matter how serious they are. What an interesting group of people she has collected over the years, so many of us come back every year, and really enjoy the atmosphere she creates. She never stops teaching you, and does it in such a way that is always fun, creative and fulfilling. I can’t say enough about the experience she creates for her students....most leave with the idea of returning again, to see what else they can achieve.

I have been working with Pat for the past 6 years. I keep coming back because she is an amazing artist in her own right and a generous teacher. She structures her classes so that each student can succeed.She graciously shares her vast knowledge of sculpting and working with clay and makes it work for ALL levels of learning . The atmosphere is fun , casual , friendly and you are surrounded by inspiration , Pat’s art. Her sculptures, platters, bowls, butter dishes and more are something to inspire too.
