Alma’s is a hidden gem!

We saw the sign for Alma’s only bar on the way to our resort. Since we live in a town called Alma, we knew we had to come back and at least get a picture with the sign! What a surprising couple of hours we spent in this little hidden gem. Pablo makes a mean margarita, my conch ceviche was out of this world and we met ALMA! This is a feel-at-home, comfortable place where everyone acted like family. We had the best visit and will definitely come back on our next trip to the island!

Off The Beaten Path And Worth Finding

On my last trip to Cozumel, we decided to stay away from all the typical tourist spots. We asked a couple locals where we should go and they told us about Alma’s. What a great experience! We met Alma and Gene and ended up spending the entire day with them. After they closed down Alma’s Only, we went to another local establishment where we met many of their friends and had an awesome day. The food, service and friendliness of Alma’s can’t be beat! Tell Alma and Gene we said hello!

Best Breakfast in Town

Great breakfast at a good price. Friendly staff, easy parking. Alma is doing a great job at this fairly new place.

Great breakfast and bbq

I’ve been to Alma’s 4 times in the last week. Monday nights they have barbecue chicken and ribs. It is very good. I also stop in for my breakfast on days I’m not diving. It is a great little spot and the prices are in line with normal places, not the tourist prices you pay up near the square.

Best dinner by far... The whole week we visited

This place was recommended by a neighbor, so glad we made the trip. It was a little funky to find but Google maps did the trick. This is a small bar/restaurant in a off the beaten path neighborhood. No glitz, no glam... Just really good food and drinks. Menu is a mix of Italian, fajitas and daily specials. Chili dogs on the day we visited, seemed an odd choice, but who knows maybe the cook likea to mix it up. Servers were a young lady and a mature lady... both very friendly, one spoke English the other not. Drinks and orders placed, we chatted and reviewed plans for the next day. Guacamole was the absolute best you had ever eaten. Food came out slowly, but was worth the wait. Omg, fajitas... nom nom nom. Full bellies and happy faces. Find this place... Eat. My only regret.... We didn’t get back for a second meal.
